Paul Skelton - Founder and Principal

Paul is a passionate and determined town planner with over 26 years’ experience in both the public and private sectors. He spent much of his career working in Gloucestershire before moving ‘home’ to York.

Paul is a chartered member of the Royal Town Planning Institute, the body responsible for maintaining professional standards in the planning trade. He worked for local planning authorities for over 20 years, including 11 years successfully leading a local authority team made up of planners & enforcement officers as well as heritage, urban design and landscape specialists. He has dealt with everything from garden fences to large urban extensions, and most thing in between.

Paul Skelton Planning was set up in 2022 and we regularly advise and negotiate on behalf of private clients, securing planning permissions, including via appeal. He also continues to work with local authorities on a wide range of projects, which helps keep him up to date with the workings and expectations of planning officers across the country.

This experience means that he is expert in all matters planning, and whether you have a site you’d like to develop, are thinking of buying and want to know the risks, or the enforcement officer has knocked on your door, Paul is keen to help find the solutions to you to where you want to be.
